Anuśāsana-parva 17

दम्भो हादम्भो वैदम्भो वश्यो वशकर: कलि: । लोककर्ता पशुपतिर्महाकर्ता हनौषध:

vāyudeva uvāca | dambho ’dambho vaidambho vaśyo vaśakaraḥ kaliḥ | lokakartā paśupatiḥ mahākartā anauṣadhaḥ ||

وایو نے کہا—وہ دشمنوں کو دبانے والا ہے، پھر بھی دَنبھ (ریا) سے پاک؛ بےریا لوگوں کا محرم؛ اپنے بھکتوں کے آگے خود کو تابع کرنے والا، اور دوسروں کو تابع کرنے کی قدرت رکھنے والا۔ وہی کلی یُگ کی صورت میں کال ہے؛ وہی عوالم کا خالق، جانداروں کا مالک (پشوپتی)، عناصرِ خمسہ سمیت ساری آفرینش کا مہا کرتّا؛ اور وہ اناج و دوا دارو پر محتاجی سے ماورا ہے۔
