Shloka 3

द्वे तनू तस्य देवस्य वेदज्ञा ब्राह्मणा विदु: । घोरामन्यां शिवामन्यां ते तनू बहुधा पुनः,वेदमें उनके दो रूप बताये गये हैं, जिन्हें वेदवेत्ता ब्राह्मण जानते हैं। उनका एक स्वरूप तो घोर है और दूसरा शिव। इन दोनोंके भी अनेक भेद हैं

dve tanū tasya devasya vedajñā brāhmaṇā viduḥ | ghorām anyāṃ śivām anyāṃ te tanū bahudhā punaḥ ||

وایو نے کہا: وید کے جاننے والے برہمن جانتے ہیں کہ اُس دیوتا کی دو صورتیں ہیں— ایک ہیبت ناک و ہولناک، اور دوسری شِو یعنی نہایت مبارک و مہربان۔ پھر ان دونوں صورتوں کی بھی بہت سی قسمیں بیان کی گئی ہیں۔
