न तेषां विद्यते दुःखं गच्छन्ति परमां गतिम् । ये शृण्वन्ति महद् ब्रह्म सावित्रीगुणकीर्तनम्
na teṣāṃ vidyate duḥkhaṃ gacchanti paramāṃ gatim | ye śṛṇvanti mahad brahma sāvitrī-guṇa-kīrtanam ||

Listening with reverence to the glorification of Savitri (Gayatri), understood as connected with the Supreme Brahman, is presented as a dharmic practice that removes sorrow and leads to the highest spiritual attainment.
In Bhishma’s instruction (Anushasana Parva), he praises the spiritual efficacy of Savitri/Gayatri: those who hear its exalted qualities are said to become free from suffering and to reach the supreme destination.
