इत्येते द्वादशादित्या: काश्यपेया इति श्रुति: । वेदके शतरुद्रिय प्रकरणमें महात्मा रुद्रके सैकड़ों नाम बताये गये हैं। अंश

بھیشم نے کہا—“یہی بارہ آدتیہ ہیں؛ شُرُتی انہیں کشیپ کے فرزند بتاتی ہے۔ اَمش، بھگ، مِتر، ورُن، دھاتا، اَریَما، جَیَنت، بھاسکر، تْوَشْٹا، پُوشا، اِندر اور وِشنو—یہ بارہ آدتیہ کہلاتے ہیں۔”
