Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament

eṣa tasyānavadyasya nāradasya mahātmanaḥ | saṃdeśo devapūjārtha taṃ tathā kuru pāṇḍava, pāṇḍunandana ||

Educational Q&A

One should follow the guidance of a blameless, spiritually authoritative sage and engage in proper worship (devapūjā) as a dharmic duty; reverence and obedience to righteous instruction are emphasized.

Bhīṣma, instructing the Pāṇḍava (Yudhiṣṭhira), relays Nārada’s directive: the message is specifically aimed at promoting worship of the deity, and Bhīṣma urges Yudhiṣṭhira to act accordingly.
