Educational Q&A

Bhishma urges Yudhiṣṭhira to refrain from grief over relatives and to cultivate steady angerlessness and calm—an ethical discipline expected of a dharmic ruler who must act without being driven by sorrow or resentment.

In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction-setting, Bhishma continues advising Yudhiṣṭhira after the war, addressing him directly as Kuntī’s son and as the pride of the Kuru line, counseling emotional restraint and composure.
