Rudra-Śiva: Names, Two Natures, and the Logic of Epithets (रुद्रनाम-बहुरूपत्व-प्रकरणम्)
श्रीभगवानुवाच हन्त ते<हं प्रवक्ष्यामि मुनिधर्ममनुत्तमम् । यं कृत्वा मुनयो यान्ति सिद्धि स्वतपसा शुभे
śrībhagavān uvāca hanta te ’haṁ pravakṣyāmi munidharmam anuttamam | yaṁ kṛtvā munayo yānti siddhiṁ svatapasaḥ śubhe ||
شری بھگوان نے فرمایا: اے نیک بخت! سنو، میں تمہیں مُنیوں کے اُس بے مثال دھرم کا بیان کرتا ہوں؛ جس پر عمل کرکے وہ اپنے ہی تپسیا کے زور سے سِدھی کو پہنچتے ہیں۔
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
The verse introduces an authoritative instruction: the supreme discipline (dharma) of sages, whose sincere practice leads to siddhi (spiritual perfection) through one’s own tapas (austerity and self-discipline).
The speaker, identified as the Blessed Lord, begins a didactic section by promising to explain the highest ‘muni-dharma’ to the addressed listener (“O auspicious one”), framing the teaching as a proven path followed by sages to attain perfection.
