अध्याय १३२ — कर्मणा मनसा वाचा: स्वर्गमार्गः तथा आयुर्विपाकः

Adhyāya 132 — The path to heaven through deed, mind, and speech; karmic results for lifespan

श्रीरुवाच प्रकीर्ण भाजनं यत्र भिन्नभाण्डमथासनम्‌ । योषितश्वैव हन्यते कश्मलोपहते गृहे

śrīr uvāca—prakīrṇa-bhājanaṃ yatra bhinna-bhāṇḍam atha āsanam | yoṣitaś caiva hanyate kaśmalopahate gṛhe ||

شری (لکشمی) نے کہا—جس گھر میں برتن بکھرے پڑے ہوں، ظروف ٹوٹے ہوں، نشستیں پھٹی ہوں، اور جہاں عورتوں کو مارا پیٹا اور ذلیل کیا جاتا ہو—وہ گھر گناہ سے آلودہ ہو جاتا ہے۔ ایسے آلودہ گھر سے تہواروں اور مقدّس ایّام میں دیوتا اور پِتر مایوس ہو کر لوٹ جاتے ہیں؛ وہاں کی پوجا وہ قبول نہیں کرتے۔

Educational Q&A

A household’s moral and physical order reflects its dharma: disorder, neglect, and especially violence against women create sinful impurity, making the home inauspicious and unfit for receiving divine and ancestral blessings.

Bhīṣma reports Śrī (Lakṣmī) speaking about the marks of a fallen household—broken and scattered domestic items and the mistreatment of women—and explains that in such a home, even worship during festivals fails to please the gods and the ancestors.
