उपवासफलात्मकविधिः — Upavāsa as Yajña-Equivalent Merit

वैशम्पायन उवाच एवं ब्रुवाणं कौन्तेयं धर्मज्ञं धर्मतत्त्ववित्‌ । धर्मपुत्रमिदं वाक्‍्यं भीष्म: शान्तनवोडब्रवीत्‌

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

evaṁ bruvāṇaṁ kaunteyaṁ dharmajñaṁ dharmatattvavit |

dharmaputram idaṁ vākyaṁ bhīṣmaḥ śāntanavo ’bravīt ||

وَیشَمپایَن نے کہا—اے جنمیجَے! جب کُنتی پُتر، دھرمپُتر یُدھِشٹھِر—جو دھرم کا جاننے والا اور دھرم کے تَتّو کا واقف تھا—اس طرح گویا ہوا، تو شانتنو کے پُتر بھیشم نے اس سے جواب میں یہ کلمات کہے۔
