नास्ति वेदात् परं शास्त्र नास्ति मातृसमो गुरु: । न धर्मात् परमो लाभस्तपो नानशनात् परम्
nāsti vedāt paraṁ śāstraṁ nāsti mātṛ-samo guruḥ | na dharmāt paramo lābhas tapo nānaśanāt param ||
وید سے بڑھ کر کوئی شاستر نہیں، ماں کے برابر کوئی گرو نہیں؛ دھرم سے بڑھ کر کوئی نفع نہیں، اور انشن/روزہ سے بڑھ کر کوئی تپسیا نہیں۔
अंगियरा उवाच
It ranks four ideals: the Veda as the highest authoritative instruction, the mother as the unsurpassed personal teacher, dharma as the greatest true profit, and fasting as a foremost form of tapas emphasizing self-restraint.
