उपवासफलात्मकविधिः — Upavāsa as Yajña-Equivalent Merit

दुःखितस्यार्थमानाभ्यां दुःखानां प्रतिषेधनम्‌ । न चैते स्वर्गकामस्य रोचन्ते सुखमेधस:

duḥkhitasyārthamānābhyāṁ duḥkhānāṁ pratiṣedhanam | na caite svargakāmasya rocante sukhamedhasaḥ ||

غم زدہ آدمی دولت اور عزّت کے سہارے اپنے دکھوں کو روکنا چاہتا ہے؛ مگر جو جنت کا طالب ہو اور جس کی سمجھ اعلیٰ تر مسرّت میں جمی ہو، اسے یہ تدبیریں پسند نہیں آتیں۔
