भीष्म उवाच अत्र ते वर्णयिष्यामि यथावृत्तं यथाश्रुतम्‌ । रुक्मिणी देवकीपुत्रसंनिधौ पर्यपृच्छत,भीष्मजीने कहा--राजन्‌! इस विषयमें एक यथार्थ वृत्तान्तको मैंने जैसा सुना है, उसीके अनुसार तुम्हें बता रहा हूँ। देवकीनन्दन श्रीकृष्णके समीप रुक्मिणीदेवीने साक्षात्‌ लक्ष्मीसे जो कुछ पूछा था, वह मुझसे सुनो

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | atra te varṇayiṣyāmi yathāvṛttaṃ yathāśrutam | rukmiṇī devakīputrasaṃnidhau paryapṛcchat |

Translation

بھیشم نے کہا—اے راجن! اس باب میں جو واقعہ جیسا ہوا اور میں نے جیسا سنا ہے، ویسا ہی تمہیں بیان کروں گا۔ دیوکی کے پُتر شری کرشن کی حضوری میں رُکمِنی نے شری (لکشمی) سے جو سوال کیا تھا، وہ مجھ سے سنو۔
