Educational Q&A

One should first establish the sacred fire correctly and then, with diligence, perform all Veda-enjoined rites as taught by qualified Brahmins—highlighting disciplined, authoritative practice of dharma.

In Bhishma’s instruction on dharma (Anushasana Parva), he advises the listener on proper religious conduct: kindle/establish the ritual fires and undertake the full range of Vedic duties according to Brahminical teaching.
