Educational Q&A

Even at the height of power, a ruler should remain receptive to the guidance of a qualified preceptor; legitimate governance is strengthened by wise counsel and dharma-oriented instruction.

Bali, son of Virocana, is described as ruling the three worlds. At that time Śukra, the renowned Bhṛgu-sage and preceptor, swiftly approaches Bali, indicating an impending instruction, warning, or counsel relevant to rule and conduct.
