इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आदिपर्वके अन्तर्गत चैत्ररथपर्वमें तपती-उपाख्यानकी समाप्तिसे सम्बन्ध रखनेवाला एक सौ बहत्तरवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ ॥/ १७२ ॥/ अपन ह< बक। हक २ 2 त्रिसप्तत्यांधिकशततमोब<् ध्याय: गन्धर्वका वसिष्ठजीकी महत्ता बताते हुए किसी श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मणको पुरोहित बनानेके लिये आग्रह करना वैशम्पायन उवाच स गन्धर्ववच: श्रुत्वा तत्‌ तदा भरतर्षभ । अर्जुन: परया भक्‍त्या पूर्णचन्द्र इवाबभौ

Vaiśampāyana uvāca | sa gandharvavacaḥ śrutvā tat tadā bharatarṣabha | arjunaḥ parayā bhaktyā pūrṇacandra ivābabhau ||

وَیشَمپایَن نے کہا—اے بھرتوں میں برتر جنمیجَے! اُس وقت گندھرو کے کلمات سن کر ارجن شدید عقیدت سے بھر کر پورے چاند کی مانند درخشاں ہو اُٹھا۔
