Vasiṣṭhasya śokaḥ, Vipāśā–Śatadrū-nāmākaraṇam, Kalmāṣapādasya bhaya-prasaṅgaḥ (Ādi Parva 167)

राज्युवाच अवलिपत॑ मुखं ब्रह्मन्‌ दिव्यान्‌ गन्धान्‌ बिभर्मि च । सुतार्थे नोपलब्धास्मि तिष्ठ याज मम प्रिये

rājñy uvāca—avaliptaṁ mukhaṁ brahman divyān gandhān bibharmi ca | sutārthe nopalabdhāsmi tiṣṭha yāja mama priye ||

ملکہ نے کہا: “اے برہمن! میرے منہ پر ابھی پان وغیرہ کا رنگ لگا ہے اور میں نے دیوی خوشبوئیں اور معطر لیپ دھار رکھے ہیں۔ پتر کے لیے میں ابھی پاکیزہ حالت میں نہیں کہ ہویش کو چھو سکوں؛ اس لیے اے یاج، میرے اس محبوب یَجْن-کرم کے لیے ذرا ٹھہر جائیے۔”
