FAQs

It functions as a thematic marker: the Purāṇa frames even the powers of Viṣṇu, Brahmā, and Indra as culminating in the narration of Śivaloka, implying that Linga-worship aims at communion with Śiva (Pati) and entry into his transcendent abode.

By foregrounding Śivaloka after mentioning the ‘prabhāva-anubhava’ of major deities, it implies Śiva-tattva as the supreme, experientially realized reality—Pati—before whom other divine authorities are contextual and whose realm signifies liberation beyond pāśa.

No single rite is prescribed in this verse; it points toward the goal of Pāśupata orientation—seeking direct anubhava (realization) of Śiva through devotion, worship of the Liṅga, and yogic discipline aimed at release of the paśu from pāśa.
