आशौचं यावदेतस्य तावत् पिण्डोदकक्रिया / चतुर्णामपि वर्णानामेष एव विधिः स्मृतः

āśaucaṃ yāvadetasya tāvat piṇḍodakakriyā / caturṇāmapi varṇānāmeṣa eva vidhiḥ smṛtaḥ

جتنی مدت تک آشوچ رہے، اتنی ہی مدت تک پِنڈ اور اُدک کی کریا کی جائے۔ یہی طریقہ چاروں ورنوں کے لیے بھی سمرتیوں میں مقرر ہے۔
