Related Themes: Garuda Purana 2.2.12 (mandala required for release); Garuda Purana 2.2.10 (purified ground as basis for ritual space)
This verse states that major deities (Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Rudra, Śrī, and Agni) are considered present in the maṇḍala, so establishing it sacralizes the rite and makes it fit for offerings and procedural acts.
In Preta Kanda contexts, correct ritual setup supports the transitional rites for the departed (preta), ensuring offerings and prayers are performed in a sanctified space believed to be attended by divine forces.
When performing śrāddha or memorial rites, create a clean, consecrated ritual space (a maṇḍala or defined altar area) with reverence to Agni and the deities, emphasizing order, purity, and intention.
