This verse links “go-raja” (cow’s dust/essence) with “medhya” purity, portraying the cow as a source-symbol of auspiciousness and ritual fitness, from which wholesome life-forms are said to arise.
It presents a cosmogonic mapping where herbs and plant-foods emerge from the hairs of a primordial being, while certain domestic animals and humans are described as arising from the cow’s essence—expressing interconnected creation through sacred symbolism.
Treat food-plants and medicinal herbs as sacred supports of life, and cultivate purity (medhya) through ethical living and respectful, non-exploitative attitudes toward animals—especially those central to traditional ritual culture.
