Concept: Spiritual qualities (vairāgya, aiśvarya) are stabilized by first acknowledging and neutralizing their opposites (adharma, ajñāna, avairāgya, anaiśvarya).
Vedantic Theme: Antaḥkaraṇa-śuddhi (purification of mind) as prerequisite for higher states; viveka between sattvic aims and obstructing vāsanās.
Application: Before cultivating renunciation or ‘spiritual power,’ identify and address counter-tendencies—ethical lapses, confusion, attachment, insecurity—through confession, corrective vows, study, and disciplined practice.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
Type: directions within mandala

This verse places vairagya among the qualities to be actively worshipped/established, implying detachment is a key prerequisite for spiritual progress and steadiness in dharma.
It suggests a sequence: first address obstructive states like adharma and ajnana, then cultivate higher virtues such as detachment and spiritual sovereignty—reflecting an inner purification leading toward moksha.
Begin by identifying and reducing drivers of adharma and ignorance (harmful habits, wrong views), then intentionally practice detachment and disciplined self-mastery through daily worship, study, and ethical conduct.
