Concept: Time-qualified rite (after one full year) performed correctly grants the departed transition from preta-status toward Pitṛ-world membership.

Application: Observe the one-year completion and perform sapiṇḍīkaraṇa on the concluding day with full correctness; treat timing and completeness as essential, not optional.

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: cosmic destination + calendrical threshold day

This verse states that performing sapiṇḍīkaraṇa properly at the end of the first year is a key rite that enables the departed (preta) to gain Pitṛloka, integrating them into the ancestral order.
It frames the post-death journey in ritual terms: the departed is treated as a preta, and through correctly timed rites—especially sapiṇḍīkaraṇa after a year—one supports the transition toward the status and realm of the Pitṛs.
Observe śrāddha-related duties with care and correct timing; for families, it emphasizes disciplined remembrance and proper rites for ancestors as a form of dharma and continuity.
