ततस्मृप्तिं ज्ञात्वा दक्षिणाभिमुखीवामोपवीती उच्छिष्टसमीपे अग्निदग्धा इति अन्नविकिरणम् / अमुकगोत्रमत्पितरमुकदेवशर्मन्नेतत्ते जलमवनेनिक्ष्व ये चात्र त्वामनुयाश्च त्वामनुतस्मै ते स्वधा इति रेखोपरि वारिधारादानम् / शेषं पूर्ववत्
tatasmṛptiṃ jñātvā dakṣiṇābhimukhīvāmopavītī ucchiṣṭasamīpe agnidagdhā iti annavikiraṇam / amukagotramatpitaramukadevaśarmannetatte jalamavanenikṣva ye cātra tvāmanuyāśca tvāmanutasmai te svadhā iti rekhopari vāridhārādānam / śeṣaṃ pūrvavat
مقررہ رسم کو یاد کر کے جنوب رُخ ہو اور واموپویت (الٹا یجنوپویت) دھارے۔ اُچھِشٹ کے قریب “اگنِدگدھا” کہتے ہوئے اَنّ بکھیرے۔ پھر یوں مخاطب ہو: “فلاں گوتر کے میرے پتا فلاں دیوشَرما! یہ پانی تمہارے لیے ہے؛ قبول کرو؛ اور یہاں جو تمہارے پیروکار آئے ہیں اُن کے لیے بھی— اُنہیں سْوَدھا ہو”— یہ کہہ کر کھینچی ہوئی لکیر پر مسلسل پانی کی دھار ڈالے۔ باقی سب پہلے کی طرح کرے۔

Application: During the Pitṛ-directed segment, face south, adopt vāmopavīta, perform prescribed anna-vikīraṇa near remnants with the stated utterance, then give a continuous water-stream over a line while explicitly dedicating it with svadhā to the father and associated beings.

This verse treats south-facing posture and vāmopavīta as required markers of pitṛ-karmas, distinguishing ancestral offerings from deva-yajñas and aligning the performer with the ritual direction and mode meant for the Pitṛs.
It prescribes addressing the father by gotra and name, dedicating the water to him and those who accompany/follow him, and pouring a continuous stream of water over a drawn line while uttering “svadhā,” completing the remainder as previously instructed.
When performing śrāddha/tarpaṇa, keep the intention precise—name the intended ancestor, include related departed beings in the offering, and follow a consistent, respectful procedure rather than treating the rite as a vague gesture.
