Brahma
Concept: Bhukti-mukti-pradā vrata: disciplined devotion to Hari performed at a specially empowered time yields both temporal well-being and liberation-oriented merit.
Vedantic Theme: Saguṇa-bhakti as upāya: worship of Hari purifies and can culminate in mokṣa when joined with niyama and śraddhā.
Application: On a Śravaṇa-conjoined Ekādaśī–Dvādaśī, undertake vrata with Hari-pūjā, japa, and sattvic conduct; treat the observance as both spiritual and ethical reset.
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Type: celestial-time (nakṣatra) and ritual-time (tithi)
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 1.136 (Śravaṇa-dvādaśī vrata exposition continues in subsequent verses)
This verse introduces Śravaṇa-dvādaśī as a vrata that grants both bhukti (worldly well-being) and mukti (liberation), highlighting it as spiritually and materially fruitful.
Indirectly: by emphasizing mukti as a fruit of disciplined observance (vrata), it frames liberation as attainable through dharmic practice and sacred calendrical alignment.
Observe Ekādaśī–Dvādaśī with devotion, and when possible align Dvādaśī with Śravaṇa nakṣatra; treat the practice as both ethical self-restraint and a focused spiritual discipline.
