Lord Śiva Instructs the Pracetās (Śiva-stuti and the Path of Bhakti)
kriyā-kalāpair idam eva yoginaḥ śraddhānvitāḥ sādhu yajanti siddhaye bhūtendriyāntaḥ-karaṇopalakṣitaṁ vede ca tantre ca ta eva kovidāḥ
In a previous verse Lord Śiva wanted to see the form of the Lord which the devotees are always interested in. There are other forms of the Lord manifest in the material world, including Brahmā and other demigods, and these are worshiped by materialistic persons. In the Second Canto, Third Chapter, of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, it is stated that those who desire material benefits are recommended to worship different types of demigods, and in conclusion the Bhāgavatam recommends:
This verse says faithful yogīs worship the Supreme through regulated activities (kriyā-kalāpa) to attain perfection, when those acts are done properly and with devotion.
Lord Śiva was guiding the Pracetās toward successful spiritual practice, emphasizing that true knowledge recognizes the Supreme as the indwelling reality and that worship should be done with faith and right understanding.
Treat your thoughts, senses, and actions as offerings—practice mindful self-control, act ethically, and remember the Divine presence within yourself and others while doing daily duties.
