Saṃjñā–Chāyā Upākhyāna: Sūrya-tejas, Substitution, and the Birth of Manu, Yama, and Yamunā
पत्या तेन गृहं प्रायात्स्वं सती मुदितानना । मुमुदातेऽथ तौ प्रीत्या दंपतो पूर्वतोधिकम्
patyā tena gṛhaṃ prāyātsvaṃ satī muditānanā | mumudāte'tha tau prītyā daṃpato pūrvatodhikam
Kasama ang kanyang asawa, si Satī—na may mukhang nagniningning sa galak—ay nagbalik sa sarili niyang tahanan. Pagkaraan, ang banal na mag-asawa ay nagalak na magkasama sa pag-ibig na kapwa ikinalulugod, higit pa kaysa dati.

It highlights the sanctity of the Śiva–Śakti union: loving harmony between Pati (the Lord) and Śakti becomes a model for dharmic life, where joy arises from mutual devotion and right relationship.
Though the verse is narrative, it supports Saguna-bhakti: Śiva is approached as the personal Lord and husband of Satī, and their loving union points devotees toward reverence for Śiva’s compassionate, approachable form (often worshiped as the Liṅga).
A simple takeaway is to cultivate prīti (loving devotion) through japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offered with a pure mind—optionally with vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as supports to steady devotion.
