It teaches that true consecration begins inwardly: by merging the limited self into the higher Self (Shiva as Pati) through concentrated yoga, the seeker becomes oriented to amṛtatva (deathlessness), and only then performs sacred installation with purity and steadiness.
Prāṇa-pratiṣṭhā is a key step in Saguna worship where Shiva is invoked to be present in the liṅga or icon; the verse emphasizes that the outer rite is supported by inner absorption—devotion and yogic collectedness make the worship living and effective.
It points to dhyāna with samādhāna (one-pointed composure) leading into prāṇa-pratiṣṭhā performed vidhivat; practically, this aligns with mantra-japa (such as the Pañcākṣarī), breath regulation, and focused invocation before consecration.
