अभिज्ञानमणि
प्रदानम् — The Signet Jewel as Proof and the Consolation of Sita
शरैस्तु सङ्कुलां कृत्वा लङ्कां परबलार्दनः।मां नयेद्यदि काकुत्स्थः तत्तस्य सदृशं भवेत्।।।।
śarais tu saṅkulāṁ kṛtvā laṅkāṁ parabalārdanaḥ | māṁ nayed yadi kākutsthaḥ tat tasya sadṛśaṁ bhavet ||
Kung si Kakutstha—tagapagwasak ng mga hukbong kaaway—ay punuin ang Laṅkā ng kanyang mga palaso at saka ako ilayo, ang gayong gawa ay ganap na karapat-dapat sa kanya.
"If Kakutstha (Rama), slayer of the enemy army fills the entire Lanka with his arrows and takes me, then his action will be worthy of him.
Dharma is the expectation that righteous power is exercised decisively against adharma: rescue and justice should be achieved in a manner consistent with the hero’s rightful role.
Sītā imagines the proper way Rāma should reclaim her—by confronting Laṅkā and defeating hostile forces—rather than by covert or improper means.
Rāma’s kṣātra-dharma (warrior-king duty): valor joined with legitimacy and honor in action.
