षोडशः सर्गः (Sarga 16): Hanumān’s Recognition of Sītā and Renewed Lament
दुष्करं कुरुते रामो हीनो यदनया प्रभुः।धारयत्यात्मनो देहं न दुःखेनावसीदति।।5.16.27।।
duṣkaraṃ kurute rāmo hīno yad anayā prabhuḥ |
dhārayaty ātmano dehaṃ na duḥkhenāvasīdati ||5.16.27||
Ginagawa ni Rama, bagama’t isang panginoon, ang napakahirap: nang mahiwalay sa kanya, pinananatili pa rin niya ang sariling katawan at hindi gumuho sa dalamhati.
"If Sita, who is worshipped by righteous Lakshmana and loved by Rama is tortured like this, it shows it is difficult to trangress the force of time.
Dharma as steadfast endurance: one must continue one’s righteous duty even when grief is overwhelming.
Seeing Sītā’s plight, Hanuman reflects on Rāma’s suffering in separation and marvels at his capacity to endure without collapsing.
Rāma’s self-restraint and perseverance—bearing sorrow while remaining committed to dharma.
