Sampāti’s Counsel and the Revelation of Laṅkā

'Take me to the ocean, the abode of Varuna. I intend to offer oblation to my brother, a great soul who is in heaven.'
Dharma includes honoring the departed through prescribed rites—gratitude and duty to family continue even after death.
Sampāti asks the vānaras to take him to the seashore so he can perform a water-offering for his deceased brother Jatāyu.
Reverence and gratitude—Sampāti expresses enduring care for his brother’s memory and spiritual welfare.
