Commissioning the Southern Search for Sītā
दक्षिणस्य समुद्रस्य मध्ये तस्य तु राक्षसी।।।।अङ्गारकेति विख्याता छायामाकृष्य भोजिनी।
dakṣiṇasya samudrasya madhye tasya tu rākṣasī |
aṅgāraketi vikhyātā chāyām ākṛṣya bhojinī |
Sa gitna ng timog na dagat na yaon ay may isang rākṣasī, tanyag sa pangalang Aṅgārakā, na humihila sa anino ng nilalang at saka ito’y nilalapa.
'In the midst of the southern sea is a famous ogress, Angaraka (also Simhika) by name who swallows humans by capturing them even by their shadows.
