Tara’s Lament and Counsel after Vali’s Fall
अभार्याश्च सभार्याश्च सन्त्यत्र वनचारिणः।लुब्धेभ्यो विप्रयुक्तेभ्यस्तेभ्यो नस्तुमुलं भयम्।।
abhāryāś ca sabhāryāś ca santy atra vanacāriṇaḥ | lubdhebhyo viprayuktebhyas tebhyo nas tumulaṃ bhayam ||
“Naririto ang mga unggoy na gumagala sa gubat—may ilan na walang asawa at may ilan na may asawa; may sakim at may mga napahiwalay sa kanilang mga asawa. Mula sa gayong mga nilalang, matindi ang panganib na kinakaharap natin.”
'There are monkeys wandering in the forest (sent away by Vali). Some of them have made others' wives their own and some have been separated from their wives. They are a great cause of fear.'
Dharma as social restraint: when desire, grievance, and displacement dominate, society becomes vulnerable to violence and exploitation.
The speakers describe volatile groups of vānaras outside normal domestic order and warn they could threaten Kishkindhā during the power vacuum.
