सुग्रीवस्य वैरानुकथनम्
Sugriva’s Account of Enmity and Appeal to Rama
न्यासभूतमिदं राज्यं तव निर्यातयाम्यहम्।मा च रोषं कृथास्सौम्य मयि शत्रुनिबर्हण।।
nyāsabhūtam idaṃ rājyaṃ tava niryātayāmy aham | mā ca roṣaṃ kṛthāḥ saumya mayi śatrunibarhaṇa ||
Ang kahariang ito’y hinawakan ko lamang bilang isang ipinagkatiwala; ngayo’y ibinabalik ko sa iyo. O maamong ginoo, mamumuksa ng mga kaaway—huwag mong ibaling sa akin ang iyong poot.
'I am handing over this kingdom which was in trust. O slayer of enemies, O good- natured one, give up your anger against me.
The kingdom is treated as a trust (nyāsa), not private property; dharma demands returning authority to its rightful holder and seeking peace over wrath.
Sugrīva attempts to pacify Vāli, offering to hand back the kingship and asking him to abandon anger.
Conciliation and respect for rightful order, expressed through willingness to relinquish power.
