Birth of the Princes and Viśvāmitra’s Arrival
Bālakāṇḍa 18
Then the virtuous king Dasaratha deliberated with his priests and kinsmen about the marriage of his sons.
Dharma is reinforced through the meeting of royal authority and spiritual authority—kings are guided and tested by sages, aligning power with righteousness.
Daśaratha is discussing his sons’ marriages when Viśvāmitra suddenly arrives at court.
Readiness to receive higher counsel—an ideal king remains open to the demands of sages and dharma.
