Lakshmana Consoles Rama on Fate, Fortitude, and Right Action
It is the go of the world. Yayati, son of Nahusa, shared heaven with Indra but because of his curse (for his bad conduct) suffered misfortune.
Dharma includes endurance amid inevitable loss: even the most venerable experience tragedy; one must still uphold right conduct.
Lakshmana cites Vasistha’s immense bereavement to help Rama frame his own suffering.
Stoic perseverance—continuing one’s duty despite repeated blows of fate.
