गृहीतुकामं दृष्ट्वैवं पुनरेवाभ्यधावत।तत्क्षणादेव संत्रासात्पुनरन्तर्हितोऽभवत्।।।।
gṛhītukāmaṃ dṛṣṭvaivaṃ punar evābhyadhāvata | tatkṣaṇād eva saṃtrāsāt punar antarhito 'bhavat ||
Nang makita niyang ibig siyang dakpin ni Rāma, muling tumalilis ang usa; at sa mismong sandaling iyon, dahil sa takot, naglaho siyang muli sa paningin.
