The Slaying (Burial) of Viradha
ततस्तु तौ काञ्चनचित्रकार्मुकौ निहत्य रक्षः परिगृह्य मैथिलीम्।विजह्रतु स्तौ मुदितौ महावने दिवि स्थितौ चन्द्रदिवाकराविव।।।।
tatas tu tau kāñcana-citra-kārmukau nihatya rakṣaḥ parigṛhya maithilīm | vijahratuḥ stau muditau mahā-vane divi sthitau candra-divākarāv iva ||
Pagkaraan, matapos mapatay ang rākṣasa, ang dalawa—taglay ang mariringal na busog na may gintong palamuti—ay isinama si Maithilī at naglakbay na masaya sa dakilang gubat, na wari’y ang Buwan at ang Araw na nakatindig sa langit.
Although pierced by arrows, and wounded by the two swords, and pulverized on the ground, the demon did not die.
Dharma restores balance: once danger is removed, life returns to orderly, peaceful movement—protection enabling rightful living even in exile.
After disposing of Virādha, Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa continue through the forest with Sītā.
