Omens before Khara’s Assault
व्याजह्रुश्च प्रदीप्तायां दिशि वै भैरवस्वनम्।अशिवं यातुधानानां शिवा घोरा महास्वनाः।।।।
vyājahruś ca pradīptāyāṃ diśi vai bhairava-svanam | aśivaṃ yātudhānānāṃ śivā ghorā mahāsvanāḥ ||
At ang mga kakila-kilabot na asong-gubat, sa malalakas at nakapanghihilakbot na alulong, ay umiyak patungo sa nagliliyab na dako—hudyat ng kasawiang-palad para sa mga rākṣasa.
Flesh-eating beasts and birds flocked at Janasthana producing a cacophony.
Adharma carries consequences. The epic frames nature’s portents as moral feedback: cruelty and aggression invite downfall.
As the rākṣasa forces move toward confrontation, jackals howl toward a blazing direction, marking ill fortune for the demons.
Moral causality (karma-bodha): understanding that unrighteous intent tends toward self-destruction.
