जटायुस्संवादः — Encounter with Jaṭāyu and the Genealogy of Beings
Aranyakanda 14
सर्वान् पुण्यफलान्वृक्षाननलापि व्यजायत।विनता च शुकीपौत्री कद्रूश्च सुरसास्वसा।।3.14.30।।
sarvān puṇyaphalān vṛkṣān analāpi vyajāyata |
vinatā ca śukīpautrī kadrūś ca surasāsvasā ||3.14.30||
Si Anālā man ay nagluwal din ng mga punongkahoy na nagbubunga ng lahat ng uri ng banal na bunga. At si Vinatā ay apo ni Śukī; sina Kadrū at Surasā naman ang kanyang mga kapatid na babae.
Anala (wife of Kasyapa) procreated trees with sacred fruits. Vinata was the granddaughter of Suki, and Kahdruva and Surasa were her sisters.
Dharma is seen as nourishment and support for life: sacred fruit-bearing trees symbolize sustenance given to the world, mirroring the duty to provide and protect.
Jaṭāyu continues the genealogical-cosmic account, moving from beings to life-sustaining trees and then to the sisters Vinatā, Kadrū, and Surasā.
Instructional responsibility: Jaṭāyu preserves and transmits traditional knowledge accurately (satya).
