मार्कंडेयवचः श्रुत्वा मृकंडुर्मुनिसत्तमः । जगाम परमं हर्षं क्षणमेकं समुच्छ्वसन्

mārkaṃḍeyavacaḥ śrutvā mṛkaṃḍurmunisattamaḥ | jagāma paramaṃ harṣaṃ kṣaṇamekaṃ samucchvasan

Nang marinig ni Mārkaṇḍeya ang kanyang mga salita, ang dakilang pantas na si Mṛkaṇḍu ay napuspos ng sukdulang galak, at sa isang saglit ay maluwag na nakahinga.
