FAQs

It is a colophon-style closing line that identifies the scripture (Padma Purāṇa), section (Brahma-khaṇḍa), dialogue frame (Brahmā–Nārada), and the chapter title (Jayantī-vrata-māhātmya).

The verse specifies that the surrounding discourse is framed as a dialogue between Brahmā and Nārada (Brahma–Nārada saṃvāda).

It signals that the chapter focuses on the religious merit, rules, and spiritual benefits associated with observing the Jayantī vrata (a devotional vow/fast).
