Application: Use sacred anniversaries to renew courage and ethics: remember that divine help arises amid ‘thundering clouds’—crisis can be a cradle for grace.

FAQs

It describes the birth occurring on a night associated with the Rohiṇī nakṣatra, with the atmosphere marked by the sound of heavy clouds—an auspicious and dramatic cosmic setting.

“Kaṃsāri” means the slayer/enemy of Kaṁsa, and “Vasudevaja” means born of Vasudeva—both epithets identifying Jagannātha here as Kṛṣṇa.

By naming Jagannātha as the universal Lord while also specifying his human lineage and mission (ending Kaṁsa), it reinforces a Vaiṣṇava view of the divine taking birth for cosmic protection and dharma.
