Dhaumya’s Counsel on Incognito Conduct in a Royal Household (राजवसतौ आचरण-निति)
अपि होतद् दरिद्राणां व्यलीकस्थानमुत्तमम् । न मृषाभिहितं राज्ञां मनुष्येषु प्रकाशयेत्,क्योंकि ऐसी ढिठाई तो दरिद्रोंको भी बहुत अप्रिय जान पड़ती है; फिर राजाओंकी तो बात ही क्या है? राजाओंकी किसी झूठी बातको दूसरे मनुष्योंके सामने प्रकाशित न करें
api hotad daridrāṇāṁ vyalīkasthānam uttamam | na mṛṣābhihitaṁ rājñāṁ manuṣyeṣu prakāśayet |
Sinabi ni Dhaugya: “Kahit sa mga dukha, ang walang-hiya at mapangahas na kayabangan ay itinuturing na pinakakasuklam-suklam; lalo na kung tungkol sa mga hari. Kaya’t huwag ilantad sa harap ng ibang tao ang anumang kasinungalingang iniuugnay sa isang hari.”
