Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas

Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana

Educational Q&A

The passage teaches that sincere inner orientation—mentally contemplating and ‘going’ to sacred tīrthas—can confer the spiritual fruit of pilgrimage, emphasizing purity of mind and devotion over mere physical travel.

Pulastya concludes a long description of tīrthas and their merits, telling Bhīṣma that he has covered both accessible and difficult pilgrimage sites and that these places are sanctified by major classes of Vedic deities.
