Rathaghoṣa–Saṃjñāna: Damayantī’s Inference and the Dispatch of the Envoy (Āraṇyaka-parva, Adhyāya 71)
The verse highlights responsible service: confidence grounded in skill, coupled with humility and deference to the king’s judgment—offering the best counsel while honoring the superior’s choice.
Bāhuka, acting as a charioteer, assures the king that his selected horses will certainly reach Vidarbha, yet invites the king to choose different horses if he prefers, promising to harness them accordingly.
