वैशम्पायन उवाच
As a chapter-colophon, the verse primarily signals closure, but it also points to the ethical frame of the preceding episode: dharma and self-restraint are tested, and actions—whether driven by desire, pride, or steadfastness—carry consequences that shape one’s path.
Vaiśampāyana indicates that the forty-sixth chapter titled ‘Urvaśī’s Curse’, situated within the ‘Indraloka-abhigamana’ section of the Vana Parva, has ended—functioning as an editorial/narrative marker rather than advancing the plot directly.
