Sūrya’s Favor and Inexhaustible Provision
एतस्स्य ते दुष्प्रणीतस्य राजन् शेषस्याहं परिपश्याम्युपायम् । यथा पुत्रस्तव कौरव्य पापा- न्मुक्तो लोके प्रतितिछेत साधु,कुरुराज! दुरात्माओंद्वारा पाण्डवोंके प्रति किये हुए इस दुर्व्यवहारकी शान्तिका उपाय मैं जानता हूँ, जिससे आपका पुत्र दुर्योधन पापसे मुक्त हो लोकमें भलीभाँति प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त करे
etasyā te duṣpraṇītasya rājan śeṣasyāhaṃ paripaśyāmy upāyam | yathā putras tava kauravya pāpān mukto loke pratitiṣṭhet sādhu ||
Wika ni Vidura: “O Hari, nakikita ko ang lunas sa nalalabing bahagi ng maling landas na ito—upang ang iyong anak, O Kaurava, ay makalaya sa kasalanan at tumindig sa daigdig na may mabuting pangalan.”
विदुर उवाच
Even when wrongdoing has already occurred, a ruler should seek a corrective remedy that restores dharma—freeing one from sin and preserving rightful standing and reputation in society.
Vidura addresses the king and proposes that there is still a practical way to resolve the consequences of the Kauravas’ misdirected conduct, aiming especially to save the king’s son from further moral downfall and public disgrace.
