एतदिच्छाम्यहं क्षिप्र॑ं त्वया दत्तं परंतप । एष मे सर्वलाभानां लाभ: परमको मत:,परंतप! तुम्हारा दिया हुआ यही दान मैं शीघ्रतापूर्वक लेना चाहता हूँ। यही मेरे लिये सम्पूर्ण लाभोंमें सबसे बढ़कर लाभ है
etad icchāmy ahaṃ kṣipraṃ tvayā dattaṃ parantapa | eṣa me sarvalābhānāṃ lābhaḥ paramako mataḥ ||
Wika ng brāhmaṇa: “O tagasunog ng mga kaaway, nais kong tanggapin agad ang handog na ito mula sa iyo. Sa aking paghatol, ito ang pinakadakilang pakinabang sa lahat ng pakinabang.”
ब्राह्मण उवाच
The verse elevates dāna (a gift given in the spirit of dharma) as a ‘supreme gain’: true profit is not merely material accumulation but the ethical and spiritual value realized through righteous giving and humble acceptance.
A brāhmaṇa addresses a heroic figure called ‘Parantapa’ and declares that he will promptly accept the offered gift, emphasizing that this particular offering is, for him, the greatest of all benefits.
