The verse emphasizes that certain life-fruits—here, the blessing of progeny—are ultimately granted through divine grace and ordained order (vihita). Ethically, it encourages patience, trust, and steadiness of heart: when one is aligned with dharma, hope is sustained by confidence in a higher moral-cosmic governance.
Yudhiṣṭhira consoles and reassures the addressed person (saumya), declaring that by Brahmā’s compassionate favor and decree, a radiant daughter will soon be obtained on earth. The statement functions as a promise/prophecy meant to restore courage and calm.
