वरुण उवाच रसा वै मत्प्रसूता हि भूतदेहेषु राघव । अहं वै त्वां प्रत्रवीमि मैथिली प्रतिगृह्यताम्,वरुणदेवने कहा--श्रीराम! समस्त प्राणियोंके शरीरमें जो जलतत्त्व है, वह मुझसे ही उत्पन्न हुआ है। अतः मैं तुमसे कहता हूँ, मिथिलेशकुमारी निष्पाप है, इसे ग्रहण करो
varuṇa uvāca | rasā vai matprasūtā hi bhūtadeheṣu rāghava | ahaṃ vai tvāṃ prabravīmi maithilī pratigṛhyatām ||
Wika ni Varuṇa: “O Rāghava, ang mga ‘katas’—ang sangkap na tubig na nasa katawan ng lahat ng nilalang—ay tunay na nagmumula sa akin. Kaya ipinahahayag ko sa iyo: walang sala si Maithilī; tanggapin mo siyang muli.”
